Meet Tom

Tom Gorman, previous owner of the Pompey Club and a PGA master professional, has been named the 26th member of the Central New York PGA Hall of Fame.

He was appointed to the PGA National Rules Committee in 1983, on which he continues to serve. He has worked 23 PGA Championships and four Ryder Cups as a rules official, and has taught and coordinated countless PGA-USGA Rules of Golf Seminars.

An accomplished player, Gorman has won the CNY PGA Senior Section Championship five times and has competed in every Section Championship since moving to the area 20 years ago.

Gorman came to the Section in 1988 from his native Western Massachusetts, purchasing Dutch Hollow Country Club and later the Pompey Club. He sold the Pompey Club to his son, Stan, also a CNY PGA Hall of Fame member.
